Warmlite Tent Footprint
Tent footprints are used as ground cloths under tents to prevent the wear and tear of your tent floor against the ground. For example, if you camp on desert sand or on a rocky site, the bottom of your tent will probably experience some minor wear and tear as a result of scratching against the ground. The footprint will protect the floor of the tent against these types of surfaces as well as prevent ground conditions from creating excessive condensation within the tent. By protecting your tent floor you can save yourself money on costly future repairs of the tent floor, if the footprint becomes damaged from extensive wear you can simply buy a new footprint, and still have a pristine tent floor.
Footprints also make perfect minimalist camping set-ups. Simply lay the footprint and not you have a clean area to sleep on and set your gear.
